Description

Thoracic trauma can result in conditions ranging from pneumothorax, to pulmonary contusions and diaphragmatic hernia. This lecture outlines the pathophysiology and emergency treatment of these conditions.

At the conclusion of this lecture, participants will have a sound understanding of the emergency approach to the patient with thoracic trauma - including emergency patient stabilisation, and management of common thoracic injuries, including diaphragmatic hernia, pneumothorax, and pulmonary contusions
